070220 Nordic Game news

The Nordic Game Program has signed a media partnership agreement for the Nordic Game 2007 conference with one of the most highly regarded media outlets in the global games industry. Eurogamer Network, the company behind the gaming and industry websites Eurogamer.net and Gamesindustry.biz, will be the Primary International Media Partner before and during Nordic Game 2007. The deal covers activities like news exclusives and joint marketing, and will result in substantial coverage of the conference from mid-February on Gamesindustry.biz.

New platforms + new communities = new opportunities

The social element plays an increasingly important roll in modern gaming. The arrival of the next generation of consoles, with their strong support for online gaming and community-building, emphasize this trend - a development that can be of great benefit to the rapidly growing Nordic games industry. The conference theme for the Nordic Game 2007, ”Games Community,” will bring online gaming, downloadable content and gaming communities together in one event. The conference program will, with the aid of some of the industry’s most prominent speakers, cover the theme from a variety of perspectives, focusing on how the building of online relationships can affect different parts of the industry, from developers and publishers to researchers, from retailers to the press. Keep informed on the latest developments at www.nordicgame.com, where the speaker roster and other important information will be updated regularly.

The Nordic cooperation

Nordic cooperation is one of the world’s most extensive forms of regional collaboration, involving Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and three autonomous areas: the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland.
Nordic cooperation has firm traditions in politics, the economy, and culture. It plays an important role in European and international collaboration, and aims at creating a strong Nordic community in a strong Europe.
Nordic cooperation seeks to safeguard Nordic and regional interests and principles in the global community. Common Nordic values help the region solidify its position as one of the world’s most innovative and competitive.
